After an intense campaign at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, the Australian Women’s Artistic Gymnastics team has taken home bronze, with an overall score of 157.450. England claimed silver with a total of 162.650 points and Canada has taken home gold with an impressive team score of 163.075.
Australia completed the WAG events as the only nation to take home a medal from every discipline, finishing with a total of six medals; one gold, two silver and three bronze.
Individual Results and Highlights:
Despite almost quitting gymnastics at 14-years-old after battling lifelong medical problems, Alexandra Eade is now the Commonwealth Games Floor Champion after delivering a stellar routine resulting in a whopping 13.33 result and earning her gold. Eade surpassed All-Around Individual Champion, Canada’s Ellie Black, on floor showing off her high difficulty tumbling passes and double acrobatic skills with incredible precision and finesse.
Georgia Godwin took home silver in the All-Around Individual results after making the impressive climb from qualifying in eighth position to placing second in the final with an overall score of 53.800, only 0.4 points behind Individual Champion Ellie Black (CAN). Godwin also managed to place third on the Uneven Bars Final with a score of 13.433, adding up to a total of three medals; two bronze and one silver for the Aussie gymnast to take home.

Georgia-Rose Brown performed consistently throughout the competition despite losing the bronze medal on the Uneven Bars to teammate Godwin by a miniscule 0.2. Although Brown didn’t medal in the Uneven Bars final, she managed to claim silver in the Balance Beam final after performing an impeccable routine resulting in a score of 13.066.
At just 17-years-old, Emily Whitehead took out the bronze medal in the Vault Final with an impressive 13.849 score, rounding off a fantastic campaign for Whitehead after clean performances on all apparatus.

The Australian Artistic Gymnastics team has represented well across all apparatus at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, showing a large improvement from the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, where it won four silver medals.
