Top three Australian Paralympic athletes

Some of Australia’s best athletes come from the country’s Paralympic scene. They show that there is ability in every disability.

 

                          3. Matt Cowdrey

Matt Cowdrey is a Paralympic swimmer who has represented Australia at three Olympic games, picking up 13 gold medals and seven silver medals. Cowdrey retired from Swimming in 2015 and has since been elected into the South Australian Parliament.

 

 

                       2.Dylan Alcott

Dylan Alcott is a wheelchair tennis extraordinaire, winning five Australian Open singles titles and two US Opens. Alcott has also picked up gold at the 2016 Olympics in the doubles tournament. Aside from tennis, Dylan is an evening presenter on Triple J radio and the ABC. 

 

                   1.Kurt Fearnley

Kurt Fearnley is one of the greatest Australian athletes winning three gold medals in Paralympic games in his chosen field of wheelchair racing. Fearnley picked up the gold at the Commonwealth Games in 2018 in the marathon and was selected to carry the flag at the closing ceremony. He was awarded an Order of Australia in 2018 for his works to fundraise and support Indigenous athletes.
