Muddy Modewarre pleads for oval upgrades

Mount Moriac Recreation Reserve, home of the Modewarre Football Club.

The Modewarre Football Club is pleading with the Surf Coast Shire to upgrade the Mount Moriac Reserve oval. Mick Fitzgerald, president of the football club for the past 10 years, says something needs to be done to prevent players from injuring themselves, and to allow Modewarre the opportunity to host finals football.

The Surf Coast Shire has plans to upgrade the back oval and install lighting for the ground, but there are no plans to address the biggest issue at the club, the main oval’s condition.
