Long road to rail improvements

Commuters travelling to the city from South Eastern suburbs as far out as Pakenham are set to save up to 13 minutes off a peak hour trip, with Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews recently announcing they would go halves in $1.1 billion dollars in funding to add two additional lanes to parts of the Monash Freeway.

The decision to prioritise roads over rail has been heavily criticised, with the South Eastern suburbs booming and an increased reliance on public transport.
